BACKGROUND OF THE APPLICATION

For drinkable water, the natural biofilm in drinking water pipes must be free of harmful pathogens and germs. However, in the case of new installations, renovations and drinking water pipes that have not been in operation for a long time, the biofilm is not yet formed or is only unstable. Germs and pathogens can get into the pipes under construction and pipe rehabilitation conditions - for example, when pipes are stored on the construction site or pipes are laid. Some of them die off quickly after commissioning, but others manifest themselves in the biofilm, which is not yet stable, and it is almost impossible to get rid of them. Especially multi-resistant germs, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, can hardly be removed by classical disinfection with hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide.

In order to rid the biofilm of germs and pathogens, and also to ensure that they are permanently inactive, we recommend a pipeline treatment with L.E.S.S. ((Light-Erasure-Spraying-System). Our application enables a healthy, natural and stable biofilm to form following disinfection.
